Hermes is justly famous for its carres, otherwise known as scarves. Now the fleet-footed one has turned these very scarves into a book. Hermes calls it the scarf as a novel.
Called Le Carre Hermes, the book is by art and architecture writer Nadine Coleno and is published by Editions du Regard and is priced at Euro 84. Hermes describes the project this way:
Each Hermes scarf tells a story: this volume is their anthology. Created as an artist’s book, it transposes the scarves instead of merely picturing them. It magnifies their charm while preserving their ethereal grace. It narrates, through images and text, the existence of the now mythical silk twill “carre”.
